[town's got a bit of a facelift! Now there's all these shiny wide-screen monitors up at one of the major crossroads, the ones that usually advertise local shops or show bright and colourful adverts all over them

THESE ARE THE VOYAGES OF--a lonely-ass space station, it would seem. It's just a view of Earth with some of the continents either missing or rearranged if one looks close enough. The footage doesn't change very much either, just occasionally switching vantage points of the same giant window staring off at the little blue sphere.
Teto just stands in front of the monitor, unblinking, oblivious to everything else around her.]
meanwhile, Kaito will just stare, completely frozen, as his screen plays out a vicious looking fight between himself and several gang members... one that ends when one of the men pulls out a gun and fires, hitting him in the chest. the video goes black after that.]
[that would be an 8 or 9- not because of the shooting itself, but because of how obvious the video made it that he didn't even try to dodge.
fortunately, the screen has moved onto something a bit happier! ...if you can call Kaito angrily snapping at a Miku as she tries to follow him home "happier." she doesn't look too put off by it, at least?]
instinct is to hug, but right now it might spook him. so instead he just... steps a little closer, making sure his coat rustles. just enough noise to let Kaito know he's there, and decide what to do about it.]

[Well, he's enjoying the show. Two monitors in particular seem to be cycling through some videos of science experiments. Brilliant experiments that involve fire and buttons and falling long distances and drowning. Oh, look, that human didn't see that Aerial Faith Plate. He chuckles as the man's body ragdolls through the air and slams against the wall. It was amusing back then, it was still amusing now. Good times, good times.
It's been a long time since he's observed experiments like these. If he had an Itch, it would definitely be satisfied right now.]

[There's plenty of monitors already showing things like concerts and stuff, so it's a treat when he finds a screen displaying the images he sees when he sleeps. They were colorful, swirly things that always helped him start his morning with a smile. He only saw them when in sleep mode, though. So maybe he could call them his dreams.
It's kind of relaxing, watching the display while listening to music from another monitor.]
