Mother Nature decided to show Her teeth. Severe cold with heaps of snow and very bad freezing has fallen on us here. During the day today we have received more than 8 cm of new snow. With what we got in the night, there is almost 20 cm of snow. In the Šumava Mountains they have some 130 cm

Continuous cold rain here but thankfully heavy snow in the mountains..
where it is needed.We depend on snow pack for our summer water supply
given we use Bull Run reservoir for water etc..
WE have had valley floor snow just once which I am
thankful for given freezing rain always accompanies it......

Well, I have just read that this arctic weather will last really till the half of February - and without more snow, which, like you say, is much needed.

We are currently in a El Nino pattern to bring a lot of precipitation..
WE are so desperately in need of rain...as is California and Washington State that I welcome it...others complain but I do not as I have lived in drought where water rationing was a daily occurrence..and California is one of two bread baskets for US..other Florida...so nation depends on rain too for it

I understand - snow is needed here too, of course. But at present, winter demonstrates itself by really really deep freezing because the sky is clean. I haven´t expected minus 12,3°C today! And it is falling down fast!

You know, snow is the last think I complain of! It is the severe freezing I am afraid of - it is difficult for every live being.

I hope that you stay safe with the snow. Its snowing here now in Connecticut but I do not think we will get much tomorrow is a state and federal holiday so the children do not have to go to school.

The road here is better now, there is sand on the slippery cover, Not that it is ideal but we can drive!

We don't have snow here, only occasionally a little frost and that is enough for me.

*Smirk* Well, I had another fall this morning...and I was walking like on the glass! Believe me, I am quite annoyed with my clumsiness. But there is ice under a layer of snow everywhere where you walk. So I prefer wading the snow in the meadows and fields!
