Reporting Arctic winter in CR! We had minus 14,6°C at half past 6 am.
I was concerned about Rocky but he was welcoming me happily, with lots of wooden wool parts entagled in his long fur. I added more in his kennel yesterday and he has a nice nest there - he is completely buried there.

It has been three days now with lots of snow, even here in the lowland. Czech mountains have mostly about 1-2 meters of new snow and all the ski resorts are havint their top season ( Read more... )

The name of the month January is "The Icy One" in Czech (Leden). And truly it is! We have had lots of snow and freezing all the time, day and night. I didn´t see my daughter with children before the end of the old year thanks to a virus that attacked the whole family, one after another, of course. The visit had to be put off twice. Well, you can imagine: I baked special cakes, roasted a back of young wild pig...bought fruits - twice too. All went to my son fortunately, so nothing was wasted. ( Read more... )

I had to change my icon because Czech autumn has ended today. A very abrupt hit of real winter! We had a white morning with a thin but solid cover of new snow. And very low temperatures, minus 3 at night and 3 during the day but the following week is supposed to be really freezing, day and night below zero ( Read more... )

Mother Nature decided to show Her teeth. Severe cold with heaps of snow and very bad freezing has fallen on us here. During the day today we have received more than 8 cm of new snow.
