Change of plans?

So after last night's post we got online and did research about bases and closest universities with a dietetics program.
These are the results:

Fort Benning:
Closest university with dietetics (or nutrition) program: Auburn University in Auburn Alabama
Distance from Army Base: Fort Benning to Auburn, AL 52 minute commute
Ft. Benning to AU: 60 minutes

If y'all go to Benning, use your BAH to live off post! There are some GORGEOUS condos in the area! The one Ry lives in has granite counter tops, all stainless steel appliances, and travertine tubs. It's a beauty ^_^

we can't live in a condo we have our dogs we need a yard!!

Very true in some situations, but I have plenty of friends who live in condos and have dogs; I did that myself the summer 2007. Just be careful with the on post housing, because sometimes depending on rank, what you get on post is not so good =/ Don't completely write off housing off post, compare the two wherever you go so you get the most for your money =]

Trust me i know all about military housing. We already have nixed military housing. We don't think your getting what your fully BAH is. We are contemplating actualy buying on you can get a really great starter home for around 100-120. we just can't do condos, it was hell with our dogs. They are very good potty trained but when we can't get to them right away...game over. We would love to be able to consider Fort benning but the deal breaker has become that AUburn is so far away. So Fort Riley is going to be our first pick.
