Well, as has been pointed out to me since posting - his assertion in this instance is very vague, with no specifics - it's more than anything an emotional appeal to the right-wing base to circle the wagons and build political momentum.

The long term idea, though, is probably the Usual Suspects - constitutional amendments to outlaw abortion and gay marriage, among other things.

I despair for humanity sometimes.

I'm aware of the other comments people made to your post. I gave it the once-over right before I absconded with this for myself. ;P

Nonetheless, it's disturbing to me that such a statement could be seen as - and WORK as - a valid rallying cry in this country.
