I had to do a credit reference check for a British customer today that led to me calling several folks in Devon. You think New Yorkers talk fast? I'm just the same, once spent two weeks in Ireland and was helpless to stop talking like them. Even got chatted up by an Irish guy who thought I came from his home town! It is a terribly sexy accent for a bloke to have I have to say.

I am hopeless at figuring out time differences when calling abroad.I had to call someone in Texas the other day at 10.00 CST. Couldn't for the life of me work out what that was in GMT especially since we're still on daylight saving.

Thank god for the internet!

If I were around it for weeks it would take me quite a while to drop the accent I picked up. *g* I love people who talk pretty....

Yeah, one of my best friends originally came from and recently returned to live in Southern Devon. Every time I call her, she's all incomprehensible for the first few minutes until I remind her to speak American. And then when I go there to visit, all her British friends make fun of her for weeks afterward 'cause she picks up my American accent.

They were so incomprensible to me at first too. And, hey, friends share... each other's accents. *g*
