I'm exhausted and I hurt all over. It's tiring having your muscles clench in a fight or flight response for about two days.... Wearing shoes with heels didn't help. But I survived my first day. I always used to hate the first week or so of a temp assignment (assuming I lasted THAT long) because I'd have none of the instinctive "OK, this, this, and this really have to be done. This can wait. There's a good cheap lunch place down the street 2 blocks. This outfit's fine," sort of knowledge that you pick up after a bit.

Like you said (rephrasing a bit), this too shall pass. Happy you got employed, hope you like the new place once you're adjusted.

It's tiring because I'm a perfectionist and because having the instinctive knowledge meant that I could do a lot of things on auto-pilot and use the time to think up story things. Instead, I have to go exploring, second guess everything, and ask stupid questions.
