In Between

I've been inundated by so many zombie shows on TV recently that I got a weird AU Saiyuki thought from it that I don't think I'll follow through on. Gojyo comes across Gonou lying in the road with his guts hanging out but while Gonou isn't totally dead he also isn't truly alive. He's a zombie, which is what happens if you die after bathing in the ( Read more... )

Between all the documentaries airing recently and watching the five-part Dead Set BBC series last week, I'm too zombied out to watch The Walking Dead.

Yeah, they're everywhere, but WALKING DEAD is awesome.

I liked it quite a bit for how gloriously cynical it is about humanity and that sometimes shades into humor. *g* It amused me that they actually got Big Brother's Davina McCall to play herself, especially with what happens to her. I think that while the end credits whizzed by I saw something thanking some kind of association of amputees, which makes me wonder about some of the zombies onscreen.

It doesn't shy away from gore and violence, but I was annoyed by the occasional application of shaky cam and some of the big sections of desaturated colors because they've become such a lazy cliche.

Still, I don't like to write stories where people get eaten that way!
