Why do people with major phobias of heights, water, etc. come on The Amazing Race? Do they really think this is the one season they won't have to deal with it? ( spoilers )

Definitely. Her terror and indecision at the slide, blocking it, was the single obstacle to them staying in the race and they only had two minutes they needed to preoccupy her for before the race's own rules took her team out of it.
I wanted to strangle Canaan. For all his talk of being christian and then he tries to throw a scared girl down the worst nightmare of her life. WTF HE TRIED TO THROW HER!!!! I mean I understand fear and maybe she could have sucked it up and done it but his actions just compounded the whole issue. He lost her trust and frankly she needs to dump his unsupportive ass.
Even if she weren't terrified, anybody throwing any unwilling person down a height like that is just wrong. His attitude would make me dig in my heels and probably punch him. I hope she leaves him.
