Disappointing Dance

This has been such an underwhelming season of America's Best Dance Crew, just in general and particularly from who ended up as the final players. If I had to choose a final three, it would have been Massive Monkeys, Southern Movement, and Rhythm City.Though

Agreed. I'm hoping that history holds true here and the group voted on by the audience loses, like it did in all the previous seasons. Only season 3 has had my preferred top 2 so far. I didn't really love We Are Heroes at first, but they've gotten much better recently, and their last number was great- Afroborike's wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, nor as sexual, but considering their decades of dance number as well, they really deserve to lose to We Are Heroes.

(Though if they pull an upset... ugh, but at least it's a new style and culture winning? So far it's always been b-boys with varying degrees of choreo, 2/3 Asian groups... not saying that these groups didn't deserve to win, or that We Are Heroes is not also different, but just a slim bright side if Afroborike wins. At least to me.)

Everybody kind of lethargically wandered through their decades of dance numbers. My main problems with We Are Heroes is that their setups for tricks always seemed slow and labored and few of the crewmembers have the charisma and skill level of their crew leader.

Season 3 had a great final two. Season 2's winning crew made me want to throw something at the TV.

Last night was incredibly disappointing. The only reason Afroborike is in the final two is because they did a decent Britney Spears last week, and their routines are lewd.

Of the three routines last night (for the first challenge), We Are Heroes are the only ones that had me thinking 'cool!'. The other two routines were incredibly blah. Can we have Jabberwokeez or Quest Crew back, please? The final do your own thing routines were better, but...

Still, I'm rooting for We Are Heroes 1) because I like Hiro and 2) I really want to see an all-girl crew win this time.

But it was a disappointing last episode before the finale.

Their Britney Spears routine was easily their best of the season. Most of their routines had a few moments of cool amidst blah and lewd poses.

We Are Heroes can't measure up to Beat Freaks--to my thinking, for the most part Hiro carries the whole rest of her crew--but Afroborike winning would be a major miscarriage of justice.

A disappointing episode in a disappointing season.
