My Boomer roommate loves Robot Chicken but some of the references fly over her head. Last episode the biggest was "Warrior needs food. Badly!" which led to talking about my old days playing arcade games teamed with strangers ( Read more... )

marvel's good at screwing shit up. i'm all right with amazing because warren ellis is hysterical and is god, and legacy is decent too (follows xavior). mostly i'm sticking to cable and deadpool and warily watching the x-titles. ^^;

I've enjoyed some of Legacy. I'm unhappy that a lot of characters I like are no longer reliably attached to books for me to follow easily. I'm also not happy with Storm since they married her off to the Black Panther. Peter David really let me down with X-Factor.

I tend to back away from the X-books unless they have Rogue or Gambit. You might wanna look through Worlds Apart, looks like a retcon for Storm's marriage is gonna happen. I havent kept with X-Factor, mostly because I wanna go back and see the whole history (been poking Cable and Deadpool too much). Unfortunately the X-terms are better than the Avengers right now. Which is making me veryvery grumpy with Marvel. Destroying my faves left and right.

I used to love Rogue but a lot of recent writers have written her as whiney, emo, and/or hypocritical, which sadden me. I remain very fond of Gambit. (Hey, I even wrote some fic back when!) This run of X-Factor took everything I loved about any character involved and destroyed it. Considering that I usually enjoy Peter David's work, this was extra frustrating.

Some things I've heard about the recent retcon about Spider-Man horrify me.

Cyclops is my favourite X-Man. I've written/read so much slash about him that I actually find it odd when I see him paired with a woman...

I don't believe them as a couple either.
