The only person I know who actively drinks moxie is my great aunt. I think the stuff must have some sort of hidden health benefit because she's been drinking it her whole life, and the first time she's been to see a doctor in her adult life was about three weeks ago (she's 86).
Actually, the root that gives it the interesting flavor is very beneficial to your health in a lot of ways. It's gentian root. I can't recall all of the benefits, but it is quite healthful. I read a paper by a student recently arguing that Moxie is the healthiest soda in it's class of soda (cola/rootbeer that is not advertised as a natural or organic beverage).
Welcome to the club. I must admit that I was VERY happy to discover that Beverages and More carries Moxie. And Grape NiHi. nevermind the Lenin-aide that gave J so much joy...
They say as you get older you start to lose your taste buds :) Couldn't resist commenting. My son drinks Moxie when he starts to get a cold and it helps reduce the symptoms,it has some root in it. Enjoy!
It has gentian root in it, which has all sorts of medicinal properties. I usually try to avoid soda, as it generally isn't very good for you. But this stuff does have some good qualities going for it.
My high school biology teacher loved Moxie...he collected Moxie memorabilia too. He had a picture of the bookcase he displayed it all on that he hung in his classroom.
