"Don't you think it's possible?"
"What, to love more than one person?"
---
Neither was sure how the subject was brought up. They had been sitting on the couch watching MNET, and all of a sudden Key had spoken up, the whine that left his lips making Minho cringe and glance over at his hyung.
"Jonghyun is always staying so late in the practice rooms, I hate waiting up for him."
"So go to bed?" Obviously to Minho, the solution was simple.
But in response, he merely got another whine, before Kibum flopped over and rested his head on Minho's lap. "I don't like going to bed alone."
"You two rarely sleep in the same bed, you know."
"It's hard to fall asleep without his snores."
Minho wasn't aware that Kim Keybum was capable of so much aegyo. He tried to not cringe as he rolled his eyes and pat Kibum on the head.
"So tell him to stop staying so late because you don't like staying up for him."
Key huffed, "It's not that simple, Minho-yah. Nothing's that simple."
Minho arched a brow, "Really now."
Kibum sat up with his usual airy-ness, fluttering his hands about as he faced Minho, his serious face not having the desired effect on his dongsaeng, who was biting back chortles.
"Really, Minho-yah. Life is full of a million complications that happen all at once."
"And it's impossible to cut that number by a fraction?"
"Don't be so thick-headed." Key brought his legs up on the couch to sit Indian-style, pressing his back so far into the cushions that he was soon going to start fusing with it.
Minho merely shrugged, returning to watch the television.
After about ten minutes of silence, Key spoke up again.
"Jonghyun and I are exclusive, now."
Minho resisted the urge to roll his eyes and heave a sigh. He glanced over at Key, his tone monotonous. "Is that so."
Key nodded, "He insisted."
"Does he think you'll cheat or something?"
Key shrugged. "He's got a few qualms with my beliefs on love."
Now Minho was interested. "What are your beliefs?"
The older boy glanced over at Minho briefly, before tilting his head back to press it into the cushions as well. He was soon going to become part of the upholstery. Minho wouldn't want to try to figure out how to get stains out of him.
"Because," Kibum started, "I have a lot of love to give, and pinning it on one person would be burdensome. They would become suffocated by it all. It could almost be mistaken for clingy." Key shuddered. "But it's not clingy at all, ew." He flipped his hair a bit, getting the bangs out of his face. "So why should I burden one person with all of my love, if I could disperse it between a few people and still give them so much love, but not too much, and be loved by them all?"
Minho stayed silent, digesting the words.
"Do you think it's possible?"
"What, to love more than one person?"
Key nodded.
Minho fell into thought for a few moments, before answering.
"I think that people who love more than one person would be viewed as greedy."
Key sighed.
"But..."
Key glanced over at Minho as the younger kept speaking.
"I don't think it's greedy at all. I think it would be something amazing to behold. Someone that has so much love to give that they want to spread it to as many people as possible, give them love, and make them happy."
The smile that lingered on Kibum's lips was small, but fond. "Really, Minho-yah?"
"Are you looking for an outlet for your love because you're afraid of suffocating Jonghyun-hyung and overwhelming him?"
"Mmm. Something like that."
"How does Jonghyun-hyung feel about that?"
Key shrugged for the umpteenth time. "He said if I found someone, we could try it out. He knows I love him and I know he loves me, and he knows I don't want to do anything that would cause harm."
"He must really love you if he's stepping into foreign territory like that."
Kibum smiled, the fondness increasing on his lips and reaching his eyes. "He does."
"I gotta say, I'm a bit jealous," Minho said, returning his gaze to the television.
"Of what?" Key tilted his head, separating from the sofa cushions and becoming part of the human world once again.
"Of Jonghyun. For finding someone like you."
"Is that because you want to find someone like me eventually, or because you want me?"
Key was known to never beat around the bush, but still, for some reason, Minho found himself a little jarred with that statement. His eyes were slightly widened as he glanced over at his hyung, who had his head tilted with curiosity. The younger male was having a hard time formulating a response to that, and Kibum huffed.
"It wasn't a college entrance exam question, Minho-yah. Answer it or I'll decide for myself."
The sound of the television was background noise as Key shifted closer, leaning in to Minho's bubble of personal space. Really, his hyung had no tact whatsoever, his bluntness was disarming and Minho found himself stumbling over his thoughts before they could even form words from his mouth. Sentences were forming, but Minho's mouth wasn't opening, and they were all caged inside like bats trying to get out of a cave.
"Damn it, Minho, answer me--"
The fact of the matter was, Minho couldn't answer. At least, not verbally. So he went with the best next scenario: Actions speak louder than words.
And kissing Kim Kibum was probably the loudest statement that Choi Minho had ever made in his entire life.
Lips were parted for a brief second, before Minho pulled away, slightly breathless. Kibum's face was lightly flushed and his eyes were wide, sparkling with confusion and that underlying, undeniable degree of want, and before he knew it, Minho couldn't resist any longer.
This time when their lips met, hands flew to the opposing body, drawing the other closer and causing a clash of fire and water, creating an impenetrable steam that billowed around them and encased them in a muggy heat, pinpricks from the steam cloud shooting into their flesh and tingling their nerves, lighting their fingertips and toes on fire, chapping their lips and making their sensual slides together rough and untamed.
Bodies meshed and soon they became an abstract painting, and as the clothes were shed from the bodies and they sprawled across each other, the canvas was a soft milky white, the brushes were teeth and lips and fingernails, the paint reds, pinks and purples, the inspirational music soft gasps and heady moans.
Minho never thought about the possibility of having more than one love until Kibum had mentioned it. From what he had seen, Kibum was unwavering and sturdy in his ways, set with the life that he had started with Jonghyun. But as Minho looked into the eyes that were so like his own - brimming with love, yet filled with an untouched loneliness - he wondered how he could have missed it.
Their touches and kisses slowed down, bodies still naked and aroused and pressed together. Minho lay nestled on Kibum's chest, ear pressed against his hyung's rib cage, listening to the steady, quickened heart beat.
"I don't want you lonely, Minho."
Kibum's voice rumbled his chest, and Minho glanced up.
But... you're the one that's lonely.
"Do you know why I'm lonely, Minho?"
Minho shook his head.
"Because every time I give away a piece of my heart, a hole is left behind. I could give away pieces of my heart to a thousand people, and would still feel that emptiness. But one day, someone will give me a piece of their heart, and I can fill that empty space with it. And one day, the hole will be completely filled with pieces from thousands of hearts, and I won't be lonely anymore."
"I can't fill that big of a space," Minho said, trailing his lips along Kibum's collarbone.
"I'm not asking you to."
Minho frowned.
"Then what are you asking of me?"
"To keep me company when that hole in my heart starts to ache."
"But what happenes when you find that one person that fills your heart so much that it feels like it's gonna burst? And when you are away from them, all you do is think of them? And all from just one, brief kiss?"
"Then my heart would explode, my mind would go crazy with thoughts of them, and my lips would go numb." Kibum tilted Minho's head up so their eyes could make contact. "But I feel that for more than just one person."
Minho's eyelids fluttered slowly with his blinks, his mind once again lagging in the process of registering Key's words. Their verbal dance, their mental stimulation that was making words swirl and boil over but stay silenced behind closed lips, it was sending Minho on a trip. Kibum lay beneath him, slender and delicate, yet with a solidarity and an absoluteness that was undeniable. Minho could see the older boy's heart through his chest, see the holes that riddled the pink organ. He could see Jonghyun's piece, fitted perfectly. And as he looked further, he could see his own piece slowly sliding into place, right next to Jonghyun's.
Licking his lips, Minho placed a kiss to Kibum's chest, directly over his jigsaw-puzzle heart.
Kibum's hands went to either side of his dongsaeng's face, pulling him up, their lips melting together like candy in the hot sun. Sweet, supple, all-consuming and borderline diabetic, Minho wondered why it had taken so long for him to finally see. Their bodies shifted against each other, Minho's lithe frame settling between Key's legs as their lower bodies aligned and slid against each other. Key's head dropped back against the cushions and once again his body was meshing, melting with its surroundings, only this time instead of the older male becoming part of the furniture, he was melding with Minho, becoming one with the shy heart that had carefully given a piece of itself to Key's, clumsy yet eager craftsmanship giving it the perfect fit.
Minho's hands around Kibum's cock were foreign, but different in a good way. Pleasure blossomed in his veins, that steam cloud forming around them once again as their mouths clashed against each other, more parts of the puzzle clicking into place as hands roamed and vocal chords strained. Connected hearts synchronized in their beats, breaths mingled together, and as Minho found purchase inside Kibum's body, his hearts' piece inside Kibum's emptiness finally locked into place.
The elders' head dropped back and a sigh of pleasure left his lips, as Minho's body rocked in tandem with their heartbeats. Sweat mingled and evaporated with the heat, adding to the steam, more pins and needles of pleasure poking into their flesh and blossoming the intense feeling in their cores, blooming the passionate flower until it threatened to consume them both. The pace quickened for both of them, mantras of the others' names falling from their counterparts' lips, the chanting crashing together and becoming one steady sound that encased them wholly, until finally they crested over that peak together.
Collapsing on top of his hyung, Minho tried to not squish him, but he was too exhausted to keep himself supported. Their cum wasn't quick to dry as the sweat mingled in the pool on Kibum's stomach, and it would have been an awkward feeling to behold if Minho had cared more than he did at the moment about it. As it were, their heart beats were slowing down together, and Minho sneaked a peak at Kibum's chest, watching as his piece glowed within its fitted spot in Kibum's heart, giving a small smile and leaning up to kiss Kibum gently on the lips.
"I think I understand what you mean."
Kibum carded his fingers through Minho's hair gently, keeping the younger close to his body.
"I'm glad."
There was a few moment's pause before Minho spoke up.
"So does that mean you're going to give away some of your heart to thousands of people?"
Kibum laughed, "I think your piece and Jonghyun's piece are pretty big."
Minho wiggled his brows, "Oh, I know."
Key laughed and hit his shoulder lightly. "I think your two pieces are the perfect size, for the perfect fit."
Chuckling, Minho pillowed his head on Kibum's chest and closed his eyes, letting out a sigh.
"Jonghyun-hyung won't get mad, will he?"
"No."
"How do you know?"
"Why do you think he stayed so late at the studio tonight?"
Minho opened his eyes and blinked a few times, before he chuckled and closed them again and snuggled closer, deciding that even if Kibum had a direct way of saying things, even if he lacked tact, and even if Jonghyun was probable cause for this situation in the first place, he didn't mind. He didn't mind that his piece was next to Jonghyun's, and he didn't mind that sometimes it took more than one person to complete a jigsaw puzzle, because it was teamwork that got it done best in the end, right?
Minho and Jonghyun might be professional puzzle solvers, but Kibum held the key to their hearts, and Minho supposed that was a fair trade-off.
