I don't know what the situation was like down there, but up here people were panicking pretty ridiculously; it seemed worse (I may have selection bias) than for the hurricane. Also, the parking bans starting in the middle of the night more than 12 hours before the snow is even falling, meaning that my car, along with dozens, maybe hundreds of others, got towed without warning because the emergency was declared after I was in for the night, thinking I'd have a chance to move it in the morning.
