Makes it easy to figure out the horsepower involved. You rarely see depictions of such large teams but of course they would have been used regularly. I guess I'm used to not just rural images but ones from smallish family farms with much smaller teams. Clearly that second image is showing a LARGE farm/ranch, which I assume were the personal fiefdoms of the robber-baron types instead of the international corporations we're used to today.

The last one reminds me of a chapter out of the Little House books, where someone would 'rent out' their services to harvest and thresh wheat. I so have to go back and try to figure out which book that was.
