Miss America Part 1: 1921 - 1940

In honor of the Miss America pageant that will be airing this Saturday I decided it would be nice to look at some of the history of the pageant.

Let me start off by saying I hate beauty pageants, but for some reason I have a soft spot for Miss America and I hate to see it slumming it as a reality show on TLC. I know it will never be what it was and that makes me a little sad. I'm not sure what it is that I like so much about Miss America, maybe that it originated in Atlantic City and as a NJ native I have pride? AC is pretty much a dump now though so not much to have pride in there.
