I really felt like they both needed some redemption here. I know that Scott came off as something of a jerk with Luke, but he's really just a man who was frightened to lose someone who is the most important thing in the world to him. And I knew that I needed to show why Reid was willing to live this lie for so long.

Had to stop and comment here. Standing ovation for Scott for letting Reid go in the lover's department, but acknowledging him as his best friend, giving him his freedom to be himself. Your conversation between Scott and Reid made me cry. Very well written. Martha is an older version of our beloved katie isn't she. I am loving this so far, but I had to comment on this FABULOUS chapter.

I can't thank you enough. I know that this fic is VERY dialogue heavy and I had a lot of insecurities about that.

And yes, Martha is an older, wiser Katie...I didn't even realize it when I created her!
