I do marcel waves with a curling iron, cause I'm a big cheater-pants. There's a tutorial I found once, but have since lost it. I think you can get the back in the same way.

the only long hair style I could think of for the 20's would be to wave it at the front & have a low bun to the side with a beaded hair pin or flower. Even if they had longer hair back then it usually was worn to give the effect of short heh. I hope that may help & also, you have a fine neck from what i see :)

yeah, that's pretty much my fallback option if i can't find another, more feminine way of doing it [i worry that the bun is a bit frumpy, i want to look like a dazzling starlet, not miss pettigrew pre-makeover...]

i have quite a high hairline at the nape of my neck so i don't really like how it looks when it's up... it's a thing i'm a bit neurotic about :)

but I don't have any advice for your hair. whenever I do marcel finger waves I just pincurl the back or pull it into a bun. My grandmother is great at waving the back, but idk how she does it.
