The tag line --"how to have guests, and enjoy them"-- sounds a bit Hannibal Lector, doesn't it?

Well, I don't get a Hannibal vibe myself but I see the point. :-)

Mostly I just think it is and was meant to be a wryly amusing title, a social guide in addition to a cookbook, to appeal to the person who wants to have guests over and have fun doing so, instead of getting all stressed out about it. I think whoever wrote the title added the "-and enjoy them" deliberately to make you laugh.
