I found the spaghetti ad first, and went looking to see if there were any others in the LIFE archives, because the idea of a food company named something like HURFF was just too rich.

Uggh. Like Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee: Bland, virtually tasteless "sauce" with equally tasteless, overcooked, flaccid "spaghetti". Hurff, indeed.

"Herff" is the sound my cats make when they have hairballs. I think the slogan "The Jersey tomato people" is pretty funny too.
