Man, I am such a nerd. While watching Episode V of Star Wars, I found myself tearing up a bit at the part where the Rebels are gearing up to defend Echo Base so the transport ships can evacuate as many people and supplies as possible. When the loud speaker said, "The first carrier is away." and all the pilots start to cheer, my eyes began to water

Yeah, I'm glad I watched those movies almost everyday when I was a kid. They really stick to you.

I remember seeing A New Hope in the theater. Actually, I remember the after-party more, as I was, at eleven, the youngest amongst the high school students who took me with them, as R, who was sixteen and one of my only friends at the time, knew I'd love it.

R also took me with her when Gene Roddenberry was in Jacksonville, which was about a hour's drive away. If it weren't for R, I'd never have really gotten into fandom, as she convinced me to write fanfiction with her, and she took me to local events with her while she lived in the area.

That's really amazing. I would love to see a Star Wars marathon in a theater somewhere.
