I DON'T KNOW. But I just watched/fast-forwarded through tonight's episode of Vampire Diaries and he was doing his weird eye thing, even when he was in the background. Why Ian what are you why can't someone tell him to tone it dowwwnnnn.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IAN'S EYES THIS YEAR. I AM HONESTLY CONCERNED. Why does the entire cast/crew of that show hate him, I mean between NO ONE doing anything about his hair and now letting him do his crazy/bug eye thing ALL THE TIME, NONSTOP....they have to hate him. OH MY GOD, YES. Granted, I haven't seen anything he's written, but every time I see his misogynistic comments brushed off with "but he wrote such amazing female characters in The West Wing!" I start raging. I don't care how great your characters were once, that does not make you entitled to write shit ones from then on and say/do whatever you want without judgement. Fandom sometimes makes me despair sometimes.

Yes! Exactly this! I have watched the earlier seasons of The West Wing, and I did love his female characters there, but that doesn't somehow magically cancel out all the rest of his grossness. He comes across as so smug and self-satisfied all the time. IDK, I don't have an issue with people liking problematic things (as The Social Network is) but when people actively try to excuse it, like they do with Sorkin, it goes to a whole new level of fuckery.
