Camellias and a striped cat

Aug 03, 2010 16:20

Today is horrible: grey, wet, and with the rain clouds extending to the ground, the horizon is all strangely blurred like London in Sherlock. However it's been fine enough for me to get photos of my camellias which brighten up winter for me, with a bonus Ashley who does the same (along with Jasmin and Vic)

Three photos of camellias and one striped cat )

She looks as if butter wouldn't melt, doesn't she. :-)

Ashley looks like a white tiger there, almost. Like a white version of a Toyger.

Love the flowers too, especially on a grey rainy day.

I've never heard of toygers, but we say we have a white tiger and a lion. :-) She's so soft and plush I want to pick her a up and cuddle her whenever I see her.

[Edit] I googled toyger images. Wow, they're gorgeous! I also love Bengals which look like little leopards. Patsy, who bred Jasmin, has those.

Unbelievable! You have camelias in the garden and now you can watch these royal blossoms! Even in a such a bleak, gray day, they must do their magic for you, or so I hope.
As always, seeing any of your cats is a joy!
Thank you for the pictures!

Are they royal? I thought that was chrysanthemums, but that pink one really does look like one. Are they related? I see they do grow in SE Asia and Japan so maybe.

It's always a joy for me to see my cats too, especially when it's unexpected like walking into a room and finding one. Serendipity!

About the camelias: here the blossoms are considered something exclusively limited for royalties or aristocracy or Puccini ...or posh idiots who simply put a white blossom in a button hole:-)
I don´t know anything about a botanic background of camelias, but they are wonderful in your garden!
While waiting here with you for a kitchen floor to dry after cleaning,Tygr is just exploring the foam in a bucket ...sneezing now, yes...looking at me indignantly...a catflap sounds...he is out. :-) Mńau!:-)

Buttonholes? They must be small ones there; mine are as big as my fist! Bigger, in fact.

:-D Silly boy! He must have sniffed some in. Poor Tygr!
