Rangitoto oil painting

I went to another oil-painting class this week. It's a pity it wasn't in August or it could count for naarmamo which starts today. Oh well, all my August stuff will be with graphics software including experimenting with Artrage.

Oh, that is beautiful! I hope you share a photo of it framed and hung in your house.

I will! I need to wait a few weeks for it to be completely dry. It will be fun choosing the right mattes and frames. I'd like to hang them together.

Oh, yes, I remember the poppies! That was beautiful, too.

Quite different looks and techniques! There's another class to paint mountains and stones in water I'd like to do, but it was full. Maybe if they hold it again in this area I'll do it.

Dear Niko, this is awesome! Not only the art itself, which is professional, but your sense of colours, composition and mainly life itself. Your paintings are always cheerful, bringing joy or peace and longing for far-away lands...

Thank you! This scene is very Auckland and only a few minutes away from my house, so it's not that exotic for me. It's a favourite scene though. Rangitoto is an Auckland icon.

That is lovely! It never ceases to amaze me how the little details add up to such a convincing whole.

It's really the little touches like the yachts and waves that brought it to life.

That is a very beautiful painting! I love the way you painted the waves and the pohutukawa tree. I hope you'll hang the painting up to display. :o)
