Nayan had been through a great many warps in his time, and, while he was never a fan of the disorientation that happened upon exiting, he admitted they were the fastest way to get around Midgard. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. This was nothing like that. This was possibly more disorienting than any warp Nayan had ever taken and it took him longer than he wished before he noticed the man with the wings on his head and... what was that behind him? For that matter, what in the name of sanity did he have on his head? Was that an animal mask? Or was that actually his head? The dancer couldn't tell, and, quite frankly, he wasn't entirely certain he wanted to know ( ... )

Ingram instantly frowned at Nayan. While most common people did not frequent nor visit Ash Vacuum, everyone was aware of its existence. Satan Morroc was something everyone alive now remembered far too vividly.

"You're not from this world, are you?" He sighed a little. Was that portal bringing people not just from foreign worlds, but worlds more similar to this? "Are you aware of what Satan Morroc is?"

From the way Ingram spoke of it, it seemed like the sort of thing Nayan should have known. Yet the more he wracked his brain, the more he realized that he honestly had no idea what exactly a "Satan Morroc" was. It didn't sound very nice, whatever it was.

Looking a little sheepish, he shook his head. "I know what Morroc is, but that doesn't sound like the same thing."

"No, it isn't." That demon's rampage had been unignorable in this world. "Satan Morroc destroyed a good chunk of Morroc and caused us quite a lot of trouble. Ash Vacuum is where the portal he made during his escape is. It's the same portal you and the others came from, as well."

Ingram tilted his head. "That's about the jist of what I can tell you without going into confidential detail, unfortunately."

He'd managed to stay on his feet, but the thought that he was suddenly Recalled somewhere didn't amuse him. The entire scenario, as he saw it, wasn't something that inspired confidence in him. Luckily with everything that had gone on he hadn't been seperated from his belongings, and the feel of sharp heavy steel on his bad gave him the slightest of comforts ( ... )

It had been some time since Ingram had been on the field, but he still found himself aware of danger in a way that was unsettling and inappropriate. Or maybe not quite so inappropriate. Still, he shouldn't feel this urge to tense up. He put on a polite expression as he turned around to greet wherever that aura of unease was coming from.

Immediately he found the source in the form of... a soldier of some kind. The man's guarded stance gave away his training, though to what extent Ingram couldn't tell yet.

"Can I help you?"

He carefully kept a mental hold on a holy light spell. He was never ever past protecting himself if push came to shove, political wars be damned.

He attempted to relax his grip some on the dagger, forcing his hand away. He simply balled that hand into a fist and forced it to his side, trying not to seem like there was a chance he'd rip the man's head off. That wasn't going to get him ahead here.

"What..." His voice was low, almost as if hushed so others around them couldn't hear. "What can you tell me about your Guild and this land?" The words felt strange, and he truthfully didn't believe them.

The world was the same, wasn't it? The same locations -- pronounced oddly, he had to add -- but the same places, no doubt. Falling through a portal, Kaite had said. Satan Morroc. A Guild that didn't exist. Maybe he'd finally gone mad.

This, he thought to himself, is what happens when you don't have nightmares.

The show of at least an attempt for nonviolence eased Ingram to a degree, but it was obvious the man was on the verge of some sort of breakdown, whether of sanity or otherwise. Though all things considered a breakdown would be perfectly normal - being thrust from one world to another would do that to a normal person.

Ingram tilted his head and shifted his feet. "Whispers of Loki is a guild built on the reputation of merchants. We on the Sleipnir - that is this airship - are our own branch of it, specific to this airship. As for this land..."

He waved a hand towards the horizon of sand blowing about from the airship's propellers. "Right now we are in the kingdom of Rune-Midgarts. This is the Sograt Desert. We're floating above the Dimensional Rift that leads to Ash Vacuum where you and the others dropped into from the portal that's there. Do you need me to go on?"

When abducted, Ava had never been left behind and therefore never beamed back up, but even then, she imagined it wouldn't have felt like this. Lacking grace, Ava would have been one of those who fell forward except she fell forward and not back, almost face planting. She shoved her arms in front of her in time, wincing at bearing her weight and the sting on her palms ( ... )

Ramsden was doing a good job of keeping herself composed as these new...contaminants warped onto the ship, but when an opportunity to let off steam presented itself, why, the captain was certainly not going to let it go to waste.

"I suggest the archery school," she murmured, removing the elongated pipe from her mouth to blow out a trail of smoke near Ava's face, "that you may acquire some grace."

Ingram sighed and lightly waved the air to brush away some of the smoke as it dissipated out.

"Rest is about the best thing you could get right now. There's nothing that can be done about the situation otherwise, and you will likely have a clearer head about it if you've had some food and rest. But let me see your hands." He gestured towards her hands.

Ava's surprise at the reindeer... person? was overridden by the puff of smoker. She coughed and skittered a few steps away.

"Archery school?" she repeated, looking back and forth between Ramsden and Ingram, utterly confused. The talk of classes with Kaite was not recalled in the sudden shock of... getting recalled.

"My hands...?" She looked down at her hands. They were still stinging and maybe turning a little red, but she didn't know if she wanted a stranger to look at them. "They're fine..."

This odd mode of transport was not growing on Allen just yet; it was somehow very different to using the Ark to move from place to place like they had been able to do back home ( ... )

Ah, the whole consent problem. It wasn't really a topic Ingram wanted to toe at, but he supposed it was going to come up sooner or later. Hopefully they wouldn't have to deal with a revolt in response to it, but there were security measures in case it came to that.

"We're under contract to run missions for the United Midgard Alliance. UMA for short. As for the problem of being forced to be part of our guild, I hope you understand that a sudden flood of foreigners through a portal made by our enemy isn't exactly a welcome experience for anyone involved."

Ingram shrugged. "Even though we're a neutral guild, we're still contracted to the reigning governing bodies and have to answer to them. We can't promise good things, but we'll do our best for you."

Allen nodded along as Ingram spoke, looking generally worn out and for a brief moment an impression of impatience may have flickered past his eyes, but it was gone as soon as it appeared.

"Another member of your guild spoke about that, UMA and that everything to do with our arrival and return was quite unknown right now... But until we can return home what are we expected to do? You said your guild undertakes missions for this Alliance... What kind of missions ( ... )

For a long moment, Ingram was silent. This all really came down to a question of when they could return to their own world, didn't it? His eyes flickered to the odd, naked blade in Allen's hand as he considered how to answer it ( ... )

That close. He was that close to rolling his eyes. But no, he's supposed to be the mature one. To be fair, it was obvious wherever this catgirl was from, it was from a more advanced world.

"This is the most advanced technology we could get our hands on as private sector-"

Wait. Catgirl?

Immediately Ingram frowned and leaned in, snagging the very tip of Koma's ear and tugging. It had to be a kitty band- oh. It didn't come off. In fact, it felt blood warm. Huh.

"... Private sector.," he continued as he eyed her ears oddly, stepping back as if he hadn't just completely invaded her personal space. "Anything more advanced would go to the kingdom military first."

Both his eyebrows rose as he took in this information. A highly amused smile slipped on.

"Full price or not, I think I'll hold on to my doubts as to whether you like pain with your pleasure. Your blush tells me otherwise," he teased before continuing on. "So far there isn't anything more advanced that I know of. But if there were, they would be part of the military in all likelihood. But that doesn't entirely matter, since you're stuck with us."
