So, everyone's seen Slashpoint over at Comics Alliance right? If not, GO LOOK AT IT NOW! I think that Slash (as in the guitarist for Guns'N'Roses) is the funniest part :P Oh, uh, the image is probably NSFW, BTW.

I'm all hopped up on allergy medication, but it's time for...MY UNSOLICITED OPINIONS ON DC'S AUGUST SOLICITATIONS!

Cover of the Month:

I like the idea of Cover of the Month! This one definitely wins. Burnham is absolutely awesome.

I approve of Batman's new fighting technique, personally.

I was jazzed about Flashpoint, but now that it seems to be largely another version of "For pete's sake, can we just get rid of Superman and Batman so we can tell some other stories for a change?" I'm more dubious. :P I'm pretty sure Kal isn't going to be very recognizable. Now I'm mostly in it for the Arthur/Diana history, lol.

For some reason, that's actually the part of Flashpoint I'm least interested in. *quickly hides* *pokes out head* Ok. I'm not really sure why, to be honest. I'm most interested in the Citizen Cold (and Pied Piper!) shenanigans, but you probably already guessed that :P

Do we know for sure that Wonder Woman in Diana? Or could it be Hippolyta?

I admit to being a secret Arthur/Diana shipper...also, there's a hint there might be some Steve Trevor in there too, and I'd like to see him back in continuity. Is this perhaps because I want Diana not to be competition for Selina (or, um, anyone else?) Maybe!

I actually think there's a decent chance that's Hippolyta, considering Britannia looks rather Diana-esque. We shall see! I'll count on you to keep me updated on the Flash Rogue stories (any sign of Trickster yet??)

If evil Wonder Woman is Hippolyta and morally ambiguous Batman in Thomas Wayne, perhaps the underlying theme of Flashpoint is "Our parents make crappy heroes." :P

I've heard decent things about Xombi.

As for Flashpoint, I cannot stand DC's continuity based navelgazing. Their best books are the ones that just go out and tell a story that's accessible to longstanding fans and new readers alike.

Batman's new fighting technique is to HIT YOU IN THE FACE WITH HIS CROTCH.
Batballs! na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na Batballs, Batballs, Batballs!
(sorry, couldn't resist :D)

Hee! I do love that French Surrealism cover!
