The other day, I received a large manila envelope in the mail with no return address. I was all "WTF?," until I opened it and a torrent of Harvey Dent swag cascaded out!
Wow, they really are going all out for this campaign! That's awesome! I think real campaigns aren't this well put together. ::boggles:: It's especially crazy because, I mean, we were always going to go see this movie. They don't even really need to have previews. What insanely cool swag! ::tries to think of a video idea::...yeah I got nothin. I'm not as cool as you guys. Prague believes in Harvey Dent? ::looks at other submissions:: Huh, apparently nobody is as cool as you guys. Ok, Prague can totally believe in Harvey Dent. Now I just need a color printer...
That is indeed a great subject for Manhunter. Most of the time I like my comics to be fantastic, but sometimes it's good to focus on real problems, especially problems like that that need more attention.

Yeah! Where's my Obama '08 stuff, Barack?

That's awfully nice of you to say, thank you! I do think we need a "Prague believes in Harvey Dent!" submission.

I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't heard of the Jaurez Femicide until I saw that memorial. I told my mom about it when I got home and she had heard of it, so that made me feel extra out-of-the-loop. Anything that brings more attention to this issue has to be a good thing.
The swag is mind-bogglingly awesome! *boggles* Man, I want a Gotham voter's registration card! Waaaaaaant! :)
Manhunter investigating those murders sounds awesome. I wonder if they'll let her put an end to the DCU version of them? It wouldn't be very satisfying otherwise, but...from what I've read it might not be exactly...stoppable, hm.

I kind of hope so. I wonder if the underlying causes if the femicide will be attributed to supervillains or something? I think I'd rather have them keep it realistic in this case. Or at least as realistic as a story about vigilante lawyer can be.
OMG! You have a Gotham voter registration card! You have a Gotham address! OMFG!!!!!!!!!! This is sooooooooooo awesome ... this campaign is just ... so. damn. realistic! I have no words. I can't get over it! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *DED of fangirl joy*
And the femicide ... I first heard of that back in freshman year of college when a student group put on a play about the murders in Juarez, although I didn't know it was happening in the entire state of Chihuahua. I'm still pretty stunned that something that horrific can go on unchecked ... It is cool that Manhunter is investigating them in the DCU, though! That sounds like it's going to be a really interesting meeting of fiction and reality.
I totally geeked out when I got the registration card! Just...AAAAHHH! OMG! Gotham address! I like to think it's nice little townhouse...
The entire viral marketing campaign has been amazing! The Columbus newspaper ran a big article about it that I have yet to read. Between stalking Christian Bale in Chicago and all of the internet stuff, I'm going to have quite a story to tell the grandkids. "Gather 'round, chillins! Lemme tell youse about the Batman movies when I was a youngin'..."

I feel so terrible that I hadn't heard of the murders before my trip. I tend to think of myself as being pretty well informed about what's going on in the world. Mina was telling me about how the investigations and media coverage have become a huge debacle.

You stalked Christian Bale in Chicago???!!?!?!11??!!!!!

*hugs* I doubt I would have heard about them had it not been for that play. This post of yours is actually the first time I'd seen something on them in four years (aside from when I purposely searched for stuff about them online). It boggles the mind that they get so little coverage O_o
Have you ever read the short-lived Anarky title?
I haven't. :( I'll make a note to look into it, though ... I need to branch out in my comics reading!
You stalked Christian Bale in Chicago???!!?!?!11??!!!!!
I did! My family and I were on vacation in Chicago while they were filming The Dark Knight, so I dragged my cousin out after dark and we hunted down the film set! WE SAW CHRISTIAN BALE! In costume as Bruce Wayne! And Michael Caine as Alfred! More details here.

Anarky's major Bat-book appearances and his mini are collected in a TPB and his series only ran for seven issues. Oh, but what a seven issues! I'm surprised that DC published a book that openly advocated anarchist philosophies. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
Actually, I'm like a conservative pundit's dream as I'm woefully susceptible to that sort of thing. For a few weeks after I read the series, I was going around thinking about how to blow stuff up.

Um, I still haven't sent your Christmas package yet (I am so ashamed), so I'll stick one of the newspapers in there! They sent me, like, five.
