LOL! I've clearly been watching too much Asian stuff. Just a minute ago two young Korean guys came to my door, wanting to discuss religion (some kind of missionaries, I bet). After I refused, I automatically gave a slight bow before closing the door. I've done that before when visiting the Japanese market, where I also automatically bowed without ( Read more... )

Oh man, one time I was walking into Walmart and the door person greeted me and I came THISCLOSE to saying "Ohayo!" I guess it registered in my subconscious mind as a teacher waiting at the gates of high school??

I've totally done that sort of thing too XD XD

A lot of the shops by my office are run by Koreans and Chinese, I've caught myself doing the head-bob sort of slight bow in greeting... but they do it back, and tend to be friendlier with me in general than my co-workers so I guess it's a good thing?

Happens to me a lot too. While I was zoning out in the local Japanese bookstore waiting in the cashier line, I handed over my books with the customary *onegai shimasu*.
Or when I enter a store I mumble a *sorry for troubling you*.
Recently, while watching Fuyu no Sakura the phone rang and I answered with a *Moshi Moshi, Una desu*.
