Music & Reading

I tend to go through phases in my music listening, just like with anything else I do. For a while, my music was all jpop, but at the moment, it seems that Jay Chou is the artist that is constantly playing on my iTunes, with some Tank every now and then ( Read more... )

I started to be like as far as romance novels go when I started reading manga...I mean, I can get more variety in my romances, and usually a stronger romantic relationship(and awesome rescues and sacrifices and such) with manga than with romance novels. I still get them and will sit down and read a few or a bunch from time to time, but I don't read them as almost exclusively...it used to be I'd read one fantasy or mystery novel for every 10 or so romances, at best, but now it's more the reverse.

I can't even remember when I've last read an all-out romance novel, and I used to read them all the time. My last romantic manga was probably Her Majesty's Dog :), that I can easily remember :D.

Yes, manga offers more variety and more sf/fantas crossover romances than quite a lot of book do. And some of the comics romances are just so incredibly good (*referring to my icon*).

mmm...yes. Usually when you say you have a comicbook OTP, you mean "i liked this couple under this writer, even though they've both had 4 other love interests since then" Snow and Bigby are among the few that have actually managed to stay together(off the top of my head, there's only, for me, DC's Ralph and Sue Dibny and Scott and Barda Free...there used to be Witchblade's Sara and Ian, but the current writer has butchered them for his Gary Stu with a Stepford Wife creating stun gun)

OMFG.

I was listening to Ting Ma Ma De Hua and was like, "Why does this sound familiar??". Then I realized S.H.E ripped off the chorus melody in their new album, in the song Jie Kou (No Excuses): http://hwk87.imeem.com/music/TYPyjiWY/jie_kou

I really love Jie Kou so this is really weird. :/ (Especially as Jay song obviously was FIRST so it's original and I want to like the original more.)
