I tend to go through phases in my music listening, just like with anything else I do. For a while, my music was all jpop, but at the moment, it seems that Jay Chou is the artist that is constantly playing on my iTunes, with some Tank every now and then...
I'm still amazed, because only a little while ago, I thought I hated hiphop. Now I'm completely addicted to a couple of Taiwanese hiphop/R&B artists :P. But, just like I told my sister, ever since I got addicted to doramas, I've been listening to music more than ever!
For several years, I used to work at a place where almost everybody had some radio station or another playing the current hit music on their work station. Whenever I got home, I welcomed the quiet. After a long time, this is the first time I'm actually listening to music from cds (and not my computer) in my home again. And I love music and am constantly humming stuff anyway!
Another thing I just realized a couple of weeks ago and mentioned to
sassiefin while we were at the World Village Festival a few weeks ago: ever since my dorama addiction, I haven't really read *any* romance novels at all. And I used to read them all the time, and still have a large pile waiting.
I guess doramas fulfill my need for romance so completely that I need no other outlet. I haven't given up on reading, of course *shudders at the mere thought*, but the books I read have changed a bit. Nowadays all-out romances are much rarer, though I do have to admit that the manga I read is mostly full of romance, even though it might be secondary to the main action :).
ETA: It seems my current favourite song is
"Ting Ma Ma De Hua (Listen to Mama's Words)", since I'm constantly replaying it on iTunes :)
ETA2: Tackey & Tsubasa's Mandarin, Korean and Thai versions of "Venus" are really wacky :D. I strongly suspect that their pronunciation of the lyrics nowhere resembles the actual language they are supposed to be singing in, but at least they are trying XD.
