Hi! You may ... or may not o_0 ... remember there was this community for the UK vidding con you joined maybe three centuries ago and never heard from again.
We have news! I've been phoning up various hotels, trying to get us the best bang for our buck, a good location, good facilities, etc etc. I'm as surprised as anyone else, but right now it actually looks like the Holiday Inn in central Milton Keynes is a pretty good bet. They're much less expensive than London and Reading prices, but have good travel connections.
They would be able to give us 2 rooms that can seat 30 each theatre style, so we can run shows and panels concurrently, and 1 room as a (lockable) dealer's room / registration / whatnot. They're okay with a disco-ish thing of an evening, and they have a bar. Which pretty much sells me. They're smack bang in the middle of MK, so easy to travel to and next to a massive collection of stores and restaurants and whatnot all within walking distance. For those who remember MK only for its soul crushing atmosphere and concrete cows, I promise it's much much better. And the cows have moved. People kept nicking them, apparently. o_0

So, 9am 24th to 8pm 26th October 2008 (registration would be from 9, panels &/or shows would most likely start from 11 or 12)
For up to 50 attendees
2 rooms, 1 con room
Guest rooms would come in at £59 per room per night, bed & breakfast, and, to meet costs, tickets would have to be £50.
If we lose the con room, tickets can go down to £40. If all this is okay in principle, I'll go ahead and see what can be arranged (I may be able to negotiate the price down a little with them and lower ticket costs, the £50 is a maximum).
