So let's into this yeah? *claps giddily*
So confession time: Faith is my favorite character ever. Her flaws, triumphs, and...just everything. And I kinda love Buffy (the character) as she is in her eyes- flawed and yet perfect. But I am tired of seeing Buffy/Faith vids where all Faith does is hurt Buffy and Buffy is this saint. The hurt went both ways but as Faith said "You hurt me, I hurt you. I'm just more efficient." So I was kinda giddy to see this one.
*gets off soapbox and presses play *
(00:04- 00:15)- Meeting our heroine.
So basically this opening clips are setting us up for Faith, the character. We see that she is all badass but landed in prison. At this point we have no idea why but...prison.
This shot is my favorite. Look at Faith in her "want. take. have" moment. *pinches her cheek*
(00:15- 00:33) - The lust that launched a thousand ships.
Lost in time I can't count the words/ I said when I thought they went unheard
All of those harsh thoughts so unkind/cos I wanted you
Here we have our flashback:
I love the transition from a hardened Faith to a... less hardened Faith. Because Faith was always protective of herself, always getting under people's skin. Someone just happened to get under hers as well. The lyrics could not be better to show this.
Our Helen of Troy- Miss Buffy Summers. I think there was mutual wanting from both girls don't you?
(00:35-00:53) - Isolation.
And now I sit here I'm all alone/ So here sits a bloody mess, tears fly home
A circle of angels, deep in war/ cos I wanted you
I love that the lyrics both present and past Faith. She's being shut out back then by the people she's supposed to trust and she's to herself now in jail.
This was just a beautiful shot and moment to pick. If I could sum up Faith's feelings up to this point, I'd use this shot.

Buffy's betrayal.

Once again, I'm loving the lyrics. It makes the story flow and reflect Faith so well in this.
These shots worked so well in both setting up Buffy's character and in showing the softer side of Faith. There's remorse and guilt but there's also Buffy realizing to get the hell out of there.
(01:15- 1:32)- Honey I'm home.
So what am I now I'm love last home /I'm all of the soft words I once owned
So back to the story. Faith was in prison having flashbacks of how she got there and we learned it was because Buffy killed someone and Faith took the rap after Buffy betrayed her.
So our heroine arrives back in town hoping to see her girl, maybe work some things out...
... and sees her in bed with Billy Idol ( I love Spike but he's in the way right now).
Naturally she feels betrayed.
If I opened my heart, there'd be no space for air cos I wanted you.
Even when Faith confronts Spike all she sees is Buffy
being taunting.
This becomes a turning point for our champion.
(1:35-1:55)- This is me- now.
This chorus , I think was a huge transition point for Faith. She's going through flashbacks in the shower as if she's washing that tenderness she had for Buffy away.

Here we have a our buildup to a showdown. Or rather it would be, if Buffy wasn't running away.
