The warehouse sits as inconspicuously as it did before -- except the damages taken from the Autobots' attack still haven't been fixed. There are still telltale signs of their passage through: broken doors, banged-up walls, scorch marks from lasers and such. It would be easy to follow in their footsteps should anyone, say... a Decepticon warlord, ( Read more... )

*It's almost a shame Drath isn't here. Watching a full Decepticon strikeforce descend from a shining blue sky is a privilege few people get, and even fewer get twice. Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Soundwave and Duskwing drop out of the sky in a perfect flying-V formation, Galvatron on point, all of them scanning the ground for traces of the lost Autobots. The Sweep-pack have been dispatched to check Drath's office, Galvatron figuring they can handle a couple of humans alone.*

*lands and checks the area* No guards, apparently! Decepticons, move in! *leads the way*

*decides this is a bad time to ask Galvatron anything*

Indeed, it is not. At the very moment Duskwing finishes that thought, as if to accentuate his conclusion, a slew of mechanied claws, wires, gears and other nicknacks shoots down, each choosing a target. There is an electrical surge within all affected -- and then a distinct pulling sensation, a tearing at their minds.

Cyclonus will soon find his question answered.

The probe intended for Duskwing plunges through his back, and he feels the fields pull at... something that once was, but is no longer. Startled, the long-dead Seeker fades from sight as the brief illusion of life slips from his spark and he steps back into that dim spirit plane that lays beside and around our own.

The others are in no condition to notice. Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Soundwave, and the others writhe for a few brief seconds, then collapse limply. Duskwing watches, not quite sure what he's seeing--then he feels the sparks depart, slipping past him amidst the machinery. Yet not as they should, not freed from mortality--still bound in some fashion.

This is wrong, all wrong! This should not be--and who dares to steal Megatron's spark? Duskwing, himself little more than a spark--a dead spark, a ghost's spark--follows the path of the stolen sparks, coursing along the wires, following them through walls and floors and ceilings ( ... )

*it'll be just as hard for the others to come to terms with what's going on, when they wake; Cardoom has had little more to do thus far than charge behind Galvatron and the others, optics bright, but the claws and cables none of them could fight were above and beyond anything he may have been expecting.

He certainly wasn't planning on being turned into an extremely pale, russet-haired young man, no matter how limp and unreasonably unruly his limbs are when Drath's goons manhandle him out of the cylinder.*

((Part of Galvatron's strike force, only because Rath's playing almost everyone else and the thread jumped so far as she self-threaded I didn't get the chance to drag 'Doom in earlier. Sorry if it looked like he appeared out of nowhere there.

((All right. I kind of wished you had told me earlier. So he's not getting turned human? I was under the impression that everyone who wasn't a ghost was going to get snagged by that machine. It'd take a lot of shooting and dodging to get out of its way, 'cause Drath designed it to snag as many bots/cons as possible.))

((Oh, no, wait, nevermind that other comment. I misunderstood what you were saying in Cardoom's most recent post. ^_^; ))

Uncertain just what is happening here, Duskwing invisibly follows the lackeys as they check over the human bodies and transport them to a cell. He is aware of them as living beings--all of them, lackeys and the unconscious ones, glowing with the life he lacks. Spirits bound to living bodies--organic ones, here, and--

And Duskwing suddenly realizes he's found the stolen sparks.

This is beyond wrong. It's--damn it, why can't I ever remember the word I want!--unnatural. Yeah, that's it. Unnatural. Shouldn't be happening. Not like this. Messing with stuff they shouldn't. Huh. Means they'll get something none of us wants, I bet.

Duskwing watches silently over the limp, unconscious bodies as their captors lock them in the cell.

This has to be put right--but how? I dunno; if I mess with anything, I might make it impossible. Megatron as a squishy is bad enough, but if Megatron got stuck as a squishy because I fucked up--no, no, no, no way! This is bad--what do I do now? Damn it, I wish I was clever like Starscream or could plot like ( ... )

*it was an attack he wasn't expecting, and he had no idea what it was meant to do until it was too late. Galvatron plunges into oblivion with his own dying scream of rage echoing in his audials...*

*until he comes awake again, blinking through eyes that seem fogged and ill-focused* *sits up, gasping, and a moment later realises what has been done to him....*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*leaps to his feet, discovers he is as weak as a newborn kitten and isn't used to this body yet, and falls flat* *sits up again, shaking his head, and looks around ( ... )

((oops, hang on, I didn't realise we'd already shifted to the cells. Can we just say Galvatron and Overkill both passed out again from shock before they were moved? I'll pick up again from the cells.))
