I think any kid would be lucky to find a family with you. And if this is something you want to do I'll be right there with you.

But whether or not it's a good idea for you isn't for me to decide.

"Not moms. She had parents...but...I would like for her to stay more permanently. Where she can be safe, and go to school, and have friends her own age, and have a proper life where she won't have to run and hide from those horrible men." She pauses, blinking rapidly a few times.

"But this isn't just my house or Sasha's house. It's ours. And we should all make the decision."

Oh... I'm sorry, I'm just not used to having equal decision making authority. This is going to be like a bad habit I have to break.

Ali, I worry that you take on too many responsibilities. But whether or not they actually are too many is up to you.

I couldn't turn away a kid who needs a place. And this sounds like a fine idea to me.
