Characters: Riku (open to anyone). Day and Time: Day 2, Shift 2 - 5:30 PM Location: Courtyard. Content: Riku gets tired of sitting around and decides to explore. Warnings: None anticipated.
On top of the fact that one of his friends had apparently completely forgotten all about him, Sora was completely clueless about what was going on. He had thought the little hand-held computer was pretty cool for all of two seconds, but then gotten distracted by wandering around the place. Somewhere along his exploring he had lost track of Cloud.
He felt worried, but he knew the blond man could take care of himself.
He opened another door to find himself stepping... outside? There were trees and things around, but when he looked up he couldn't really see the sky. He sighed, slightly disappointed that he hadn't found a way out.
That's when he noticed that he wasn't alone in the courtyard.
"Riku?!" he asked, not even daring to believe it. After looking for his friend for so long, he was standing right there. It had to be a mirage or something.
That voice... It really made Riku stop dead in his tracks before he could get all the way into the next hallway. He turned his body halfway to look behind him, wondering if perhaps boredom was playing tricks on his mind by making him hear familiar voices, but... He was pleasantly surprised to find his best friend standing not but a few feet away from him.
"Sora-- there you are. I've been wondering if you were here," he said, giving him a casual pseudo wave before approaching him.
And why does he look so shocked, anyway? he wondered when he got a better look.
"Hey, what's with you? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Sora went to his friend and grabbed his arms, testing to make sure that Riku really was there and really was real.
"It's really you!" he said, shocked and amazed. "I've been looking all over for you!"
He felt emotion start to well up inside of him. He was so relieved to see his friend in one piece, so happy to be with him again. Tears started to come to his eyes.
"Huh? Sora, it's... we just saw eachother yesterday."
That frequently reoccuring question of just what kind of place this was weaseled its way back into Riku's consciousness. Sora was acting like he hadn't seen him in months and Riku was pretty sure he had just hung out with him the day before he wound up here. What really threw him off were the tears brimming his blue eyes... He hadn't seen him get this emotional since--
"You didn't think I'd let us get separated again, did you?" he asked.
