This place was so creepy!

On top of the fact that one of his friends had apparently completely forgotten all about him, Sora was completely clueless about what was going on. He had thought the little hand-held computer was pretty cool for all of two seconds, but then gotten distracted by wandering around the place. Somewhere along his exploring he had lost track of Cloud.

He felt worried, but he knew the blond man could take care of himself.

He opened another door to find himself stepping... outside? There were trees and things around, but when he looked up he couldn't really see the sky. He sighed, slightly disappointed that he hadn't found a way out.

That's when he noticed that he wasn't alone in the courtyard.

"Riku?!" he asked, not even daring to believe it. After looking for his friend for so long, he was standing right there. It had to be a mirage or something.

Was he going crazy??

"Riku?!"

That voice... It really made Riku stop dead in his tracks before he could get all the way into the next hallway. He turned his body halfway to look behind him, wondering if perhaps boredom was playing tricks on his mind by making him hear familiar voices, but... He was pleasantly surprised to find his best friend standing not but a few feet away from him.

"Sora-- there you are. I've been wondering if you were here," he said, giving him a casual pseudo wave before approaching him.

And why does he look so shocked, anyway? he wondered when he got a better look.

"Hey, what's with you? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Sora went to his friend and grabbed his arms, testing to make sure that Riku really was there and really was real.

"It's really you!" he said, shocked and amazed. "I've been looking all over for you!"

He felt emotion start to well up inside of him. He was so relieved to see his friend in one piece, so happy to be with him again. Tears started to come to his eyes.

"Huh? Sora, it's... we just saw eachother yesterday."

That frequently reoccuring question of just what kind of place this was weaseled its way back into Riku's consciousness. Sora was acting like he hadn't seen him in months and Riku was pretty sure he had just hung out with him the day before he wound up here. What really threw him off were the tears brimming his blue eyes... He hadn't seen him get this emotional since--

"You didn't think I'd let us get separated again, did you?" he asked.

"What are you talking about?" Sora asked, the tears coming out of his eyes now. Of course they hadn't seen each other yesterday. He hadn't seen Riku since they had closed the door and that had been a year ago (so what if Sora couldn't really remember most that that year, it had still been a year).

"How can you say that?" he asked, tears now coming from his eyes. He felt his legs go weak and felt that he might have fallen to the ground if he wasn't holding onto Riku. His grip on his friend tightened slightly, as he was clearly getting support from him. "I looked everywhere for you but I...." He didn't care that he was making a little bit of a fool of himself, crying and making a scene.

It was Riku and after wanting to see his friend so badly for so long, here he was.

He looked everywhere for him?

Those words triggered a memory in Riku from when he still took Ansem's appearance. Sora had reacted this same exact way... but what did it mean? He wasn't really sure, but the other boy seemed rather offended by the fact that Riku was positive he had seen him just yesterday. It was just best not to make it worse by questioning Sora, he decided.

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it to sound harsh," he replied, frowning.

As an effort to comfort his friend and offer him the balance he was searching for, Riku shifted his arms so that he could embrace Sora. It was a manly hug, he insisted. But it seemed like he needed it either way, and he wasn't sure what else he could say without further upsetting him.

"C'mon, Sora... You gotta pull yourself together," he told him, a smile in his voice to show he wasn't trying to be a pushy jerk.

Sora accepted the hug for a moment before pulling away. Yeah, he really did need to pull himself together. He stepped back and looked at Riku seriously, forcing the tears to stop.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, getting back to business. The two of them could catch up more once they were no longer trapped in a strange and creepy house. "Do you know what this place is? Did that witch bring you here too?" The last thing he remembered was Maleficent acting as if she was going to help him, Donald and Goofy but instead he had woken up in his strange house.

Riku almost couldn't help the soft chuckle that was itching at his throat when Sora forced himself to get down to business. Teasingly, he gave the boy's spikey mane a gentle ruffle. "I'm happy to see you too, y'know," he added before focusing on the matters at hand ( ... )

Sora beamed. He was so happy to be with his friend that for a moment all he could do was look at Riku. It was true that he really was there. Sora was so pleased about this that he could hardly contain it.

It was important they try to figure things out first.

"Yeah," he said. "She showed up on Hollow Bastion while I was fighting the Nobodies and then sucked me and the guys into the darkness." That was when Sora woke up here. He thought over that battle, trying to think of any possibilities. He had been facing the Organization, maybe they had some hand in it...

That was so peculiar. There seemed to be other people here that Riku seemed sure weren't from their worlds, but maybe they were from further out ones that they didn't know were connected yet. Maybe Maleficent was behind this. He certainly wouldn't put it past her. She was only in it for herself. And then he did a double-take over Sora's words. Hollow Bastion? Why was he calling it that? It was known as Radiant Garden now... And what's more, they hadn't run into Nobodies in quite some time either.

With an inward sigh, Riku decided to deal with it later. The important thing was that Sora was here and he was safe. They needed to get out of here and he could only hope that Kairi wasn't stuck in this place either.

"Weird," he muttered, shaking his head. Then he remembered: "Oh, Sora. Have you been having trouble summoning the keyblade or using magic here?"

"Summoning the Keyblade?" Sora asked, a little confused by that. Of course he didn't have a problem...

.......

Sora tired to bring it too him, but nothing happened. There was no shimmering glow before the key-shaped weapon appeared in his hand. There was... nothing.

And magic? As he tried to focus on it, nothing happened.

He was more confused by this any anything. He shook his head. "No..." he said. "What's wrong with that?" There were some places he had gone where he couldn't use all of his abilities (like the Underworld) but to not be able to call the Keyblade?? That hadn't happened to him since he had gotten it... well once, but then it had been because Riku had taken it from him, and he wouldn't do that again.

Right?

A grimace worked its way across Riku's face as he witnessed Sora's struggle to summon his keyblade and magic. This was just great. Not even the Keyblade Master could call for his abilities here. He sighed and loosely crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know... I haven't been able to summon my weapon or any of my abilities either," he replied.

"I don't like it. And this place makes me wary. People are getting torn from their worlds and taken to this house. There has to be some kind of force behind it and we have to find out what it is. I, for one, don't want to stay here for the rest of my life."

He had spent long enough in the darkness. A dark and gloomy mansion wasn't much of a step up and he had just been settling down into a new life at home. Obviously the forces that be didn't want him to have a peaceful life.

Sora listened to his friend, he did, but he was also starting to feel a bit of panic over not being able to summon the Keyblade.

"This isn't right," he said. "What are we gonna do?"

"We should probably try to find some kind of way out first, and maybe something to protect ourselves with. I don't know what all is here but a creepy house that's magically stripping away our abilities is a little suspicious," Riku replied.

A sigh. He looked out into the hallway he had started heading into for a moment, then back. "Any idea where to start?"

"I've been wandering all around this place and I can't find a way out." He put his hands on the back of his head, his stance when he was thinking or listening. "And I don't know about fighting either. When we went to the Underworld our abilities were weakened, but then we just got a stone to counter it. Maybe there's something like that here?"
