He's still angry, but I want you to know that he just feels cornered because nothing he's trying is helping.
He disagrees with you on the hitting issue, but he's also scared that even one little thing like that could turn him into a monster. Already he has decided in his life that self-mutilation is out of the question, so he has no other place to vent.
To put it in the words of the person he knows I trust the most, "I don't approve of hitting anybody, male or female. I do however understand the fact that people are human and humans are violent." The fact that he took it out on someone physically weaker than he is just another part of the travesty of the situation.
Despite the self-mutilation out the door, he does feel self-hatred and a part of him just wants you to hate him. It makes him feel more justified. I just hope he has not made an enemy out of someone who he trusts.
I know I was being insensitive considering the reason you have for distrusting abusive people. I guess I just have a completely different view since I was raised completely by women and feel as if anything, I'm the inferior one.
I don't hit girls regularly. I don't hit people regularly period. I was attacked and cornered and feeling more rage than I ever have. I'm human. What else was I supposed to do? Run her over with the car?
You weren't there. I don't expect you to truly get it one way or another unless you were. I wasn't abusing my strength over her. And in my opinion, if any person needs to be slapped, they shouldn't be able to hide behind gender, race, or situation period. I surely don't agree with people who go so far as to beat another up, but I shouldn't be afraid to slap someone just because they're female and I'm not
