Welcome to the vicbushfirefund community. This community is the home of a fundraising auction to support the Red Cross Australia Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009. I hope you will enjoy browsing, and perhaps consider bidding on or offering an item!

There are incredible numbers of people doing things to help the people and communities (and animals!) affected by the bushfires. A list of ideas, fundraisers, and ways to help out can be found on the Profile page. I encourage you to go there if you are trying to think of things to do.
I'll be putting the odd message on this entry regarding any urgent volunteering or other opportunities that come up, so feel free to pop back here and check if anything is going on. Also, there is only one of me and I am sure to miss things, so if you know of a link or a fundraiser that should be included here, please let me know - I'll include as much as I can.
UPDATE ON RED CROSS CALL CENTRE - 14/2/09: Apparently the call centre in Flinders St no longer needs volunteers (as of 5pm today). The donation line is still open, so I presume they now have enough people with their regular volunteers and workers. Thanks to everyone who went down there to help.
