What was weasel's luck about?

It's a DragonLance book that deals with an ancestor of one of the original characters, and his mishaps attempting to wed this one lady he was destined to marry. It focuses more specifically on a boy named "Weasel" who's his squire.

What confuses me is there's no reference to either character anywhere else - no Bayard Brightblade, no Galen Pathwarden. So, I dunno what's up.
