Such a sweet moment in time to capture - reminds me so much of former days, but I appreciate how you manage to cross present day with something that seems just outside of our universe/time. Love the characters and dialogue, too!

Thank you! I've always felt very so-so at dialogue (I typically don't write fiction so I'm not used to it), so I'm always happy to hear that I'm doing okay at it. :-)

I thought this was set in the present day, and then it just got more and more unusual. Good way of keeping the surprises coming.

Great scene and really skillful world-building. The dialogue kept me hooked! You captured a recognizable "time" that all of us have grown through!

Thank you; I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) Part of the fun of locking myself inside this world, but doing vignettes, is the ability to jump around to different characters and ideas (so I don't feel tied down by any particular story threads) while also having a little bit of a framework to work from (so I'm not completely fumbling around trying to come up with something).

I enjoy the vignette structure. There is subtlety in the world building. It keeps giving me that feeling that the world is just not quite right to be the one I live in. It's an intriguing sensation.

Oh, this could be quite interesting. Two strong characters here.

Thank you! I still haven't quite decided if I'm going to come back to any characters or not - I'm sort of waffling between just doing all of these stories as one-off scenes and having a bunch of characters that might end up having an overarching connection. But I do like these two a lot, and I wonder how their story will proceed.
