The "eggs" resemble dyed oatmeal or cottage cheese--what IS that substance?

In a way, it resembles the old Earth dish, sausages on baked beans with sun-dried tomatoes?

Thanks! The 'sun-dried tomatoes' are actually spiced figs, which is nearly impossible to tell from the picture, but they were quite tasty.

At first glance, I guessed that it was a negative image. In context, that seems to be a Total Success.
