I played Wii sport for the first time just before christmas. Forst time I've ever been out of breath playing a videogame - Wii boxing can really work up a sweat!

It certainly can! And when we bowl we alternate arms between games because otherwise we have aching muscles next morning. The complete opposite of couch potato - in fact, the NHS has stated its approval and encouragement of Wii Fit Plus.

I understand that using Wii is also turning out to be really helpful in physical rehab and in engaging residents in nursing/residential homes so much that they're showing improvements in memory, hearing, vision, concentration and social interaction, including residents with dementia (much like the famous SAGE project where twice weekly massages were shown to do the same - it seems to be all about the mental engagement and social aspect).

Wii Sports is also good.

A retired friend told me it was a damn good thing she didn't have to go to work - she hadn't realised how much exercise she'd got using the tennis game.
