Ice cream quest

Does anyone know a good ice cream place in walking distance of (ideally) the Orange Line, toward the northern end? Some friends from the midwest are going to be in town soon after we move, and we usually take them someplace for Good Ice Cream. (I think last time it was Christina's.) But with 2 of us, 2 of them, and their 6-year-old, fitting into

There's a soft-serve place on Rt 60 (or is it Rt 99?) that has good soft serve, open only during the summer.

There's an ice cream place in the plaza with the Stop & Shop in Malden Center, that seems to be appreciated, but I've never actually tried it.
