Remainder of the Xmas entry

I'm home, oh joy, I missed my apartment. Didn't really miss Prague, just the apartment. I start teaching in earnest next week, though I still don't have a full load of classes because the organizers are sick, grr. I start Czech lessons next week too, funfun. Not really, and dear lord could there be a more useless language to put on my resume, but I ( Read more... )

You just made a mom very happy with your waffling. I've been dying to know how you've been doing. It sounds like you had a great time over the holiday - thank goodness.

Money? Drop me a note and let me know how much you need, darling.

Love you! *long-distance hug*

Oh man, that sounds like so much fun. Tours of England with families there, and so much geek shopping! I envy you.

:]

Frost is really pretty, and I get really excited when there's fog here. We've had it a few times, though I think it's a five-days-a-year thing.

Someone was actually selling a slash shirt?! In an actual store?!!

Miss you.

Well, I didn't actually buy much geek stuff. Just a cheap tiny Superman and tiny Tim. Lots of gifts though! And coveting, lots of coveting. At Aflacks Palace they had those DIY dresses made from Superman and Batman fabric. And I have pics to show you of a couple random Batman and Robin figures I saw around Manchester. The slash shirt was so great, I'm trying to google the image but no luck so far. I dunno if it counts as a store though, it was a stall in a market that made shirts. Did I tell you that in LA Cindy found a pillow with Batman and Robin kissing? So much seducing of innocents all around...

See, homemade I can understand. I've got a Toon!Robin/Red X shirt that Maya made and sent me.

But an actual market (though small) is still wonderful! It means that someone out there thinks that these will sell, so there could be a whole hidden circle that we're a part of, but unaware of how big it truly is.

It makes me happy to know I'm walking amongst other secret fans. *laughs* It could be anyone!

Pictures of figures would be great! We're able to order new things in where I work (I just got a Jim Lee Batman statue, and it looks so cool) but Robin figures are hard to find. And to find one where I have no complaints (ie: his face looks silly, why is his costume bulky, et al) is hard!

I did dig up some old promotional material back from when Robin was just starting out as a comic. I think I'll eventually have to convince my boss that the roof-danglies and old posters will be better served with me, than in the back room gathering dust.

Hooray! Thanks for the update. (And belated Happy Holidaze!)

re: The language thing - I don't see what the problem is - I spend most of my time staring blankly at people, and most of them are speaking English....

I think you would make an excellent companion for the Doctor. Talk about the ultimate travel adventure! (And yes, that series does indeed rock.)

You probably need to throw a hero into that super-villain mashup. Someone to break it up, y'know. Based on the villians - what a surprise, Flash or Batman? ;-)
