Dark clouds lay scattered low in the sky as the sun began to rise. Slowly, it lit up the clouds from below. Navy and violet clouds gave way to pinks and oranges, but nothing was so striking as the way the sun seemed to set fire to the rest of the sky. It was a beautiful, but uncommon sight in Vertiline, and it made many of the villagers of Eider

And then the shadow in the fog had appeared, catching his attention and nagging at him to go check it out. Rifle slung across his back, ammunition and his hunting knife at his side, Seth started towards the dark shape. A short, shrill whistle would bring his dog, thus far unnamed, to trot happily beside him.
What he'd first half hoped was a golem was in fact a building. Seeing as there was nothing else for him to be doing, Seth decided to check it out.

The chicken earns a prod, the mug ignored and the artichoke is picked up, fiddled with and lazily passed from hand to hand. Seth sighs and sets the artichoke back on the shelf. "Heh, boring."
Behind him, Seth's dog sniffs around before coming to stand at his side, peering up at its master as though asking what it should do next. An idle hand brushes knuckles on the top of the dogs head.
"Looks like we picked the wrong door to suss out," Seth mutters, "C'mon then."

The object is just a small figurine. A woman in a long skirt with a bustle at the back looks out from beneath the wide brim of her hat with the large plume. Her hands are raised up as she appears to be adjusting the glove that flares out at her wrist.
She's made of delicate porcelain, but the painter obviously took care with his paint, choosing to use it to breath life into her. Her skin looks soft and touchable, and somehow he's managed to paint an intricate embroidered trim to the hem of her skirts.
It's all soft matte colors but for the necklace around her neck. It holds a simple, emerald colored pendant. The gem itself is set slightly in her chest, perhaps a sign that she was designed with that necklace in mind.

"Someone put a lot of work into this," he mutters to the dog, who wags its tail in reply.
Thoughts cross his mind as to whether or not he should take the whole thing or try to remove the gem from it's place. Brow creasing to a frown, Seth puts the figure into his bag and gives the room another look-over. If nothing of interest appears, he'll take his Dog and go elsewhere.
