Abigail's Tea Room

Yesterday we went to Abigail's Tea Room, adjacent to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum (haven't been to the ships/museum yet). We didn't know what to expect. Not when we were there, oddly enough. The pastry selection does dwindle as the day goes on, though, and we got there pretty late... :( We had clam chowder and then these heavy, buttery cookies topped with raspberry preserve. In addition to the tea.

I'm not sure what I think of a tea room that is so little about being a tea room and so much about being a touristy gimmick. It sounds like it was nonetheless surprisingly good, and if one has fun, then who cares, but it sounds so... not tea room like.

It's not tea-room-like. The pluses were that the tea was good (both kinds of it!) and that it was pretty dead, so you could spend a few hours at a relatively low cost without anyone bothering you. I don't know if it's always that dead. It was a Saturday, though, so I was surprised.
