Usually I don't ask questions about the show like this, but I watched Leave it to Beaver again and have a question.

Why did Veronica just kick out her mom like that? She was still drinking yeah, but when her mom first came back she was all happy. Why did she want her to leave when she came back from the hospital? I mean (I'm assuming

She didn't know her mom was drinking until she drunk from her bottle. She then had to go out and kicked her out when she got back. Veronica thought Lianne had been through rehab and was making an effort. When she found out her mom had quit early, therefore wasting all of Veronica's college money, PLUS lying to them, it was a complete betrayal. I think she also knew Keith was putting up with her for Veronica's sake, he probably didn't want her actually there. So she did something really hard, and asked her to leave. It took amazing courage.

The specific reason why she did it then was because she'd had enough. When she took the sip of "water" from the fridge that her mom had been drinking and realized it was vodka and not water, she was justifiably upset. She'd used her college money to get her into rehab, and that's how Veronica gets repayed? Not cool.

wow. thank you so much! i would've never guessed that water thing had to do with anything. i just thought it was some random thing, like the plate falling. but... how'd you guys know it was vodka? :/ did they say it somewhere. i think i missed it.

Yeah, she spits it out right after she takes the sip. That'd be a pretty rude awakening to take a swig of vodka when you think you're getting water.

i think it tore her apart that she did all that for her mom and it didn't make her better. and her mom didn't let herself get better. and after seeing everything her dad went through after she left veronica couldn't let her stick around and hurt him more.
