Pilot Question

So I'm rewatching the Pilot episode, and I noticed something. How come in this episode, Veronica asks Keith to look up the license plate number for her, while in every other episode of both seasons, if she has a license plate number, she has the program and runs them on her own ( Read more... )

Primarily, I'd guess because it's the Pilot, which gets written long before the rest of the series. They probably decided it was much more streamlined to give Veronica her own access for that sort of thing.

Word.

It would really slow the pacing of the show, and sort of be untrue to the character of Veronica that was set up by the end of the pilot, if she went running to Keith every time she needed info.

Or, if you're more into the "the writers are alwasy right" kind of thinking, perhaps Keith just got tired of running license plates etc and bought Veronica her own subscription to PrivateEyez.

Anything that happens in the pilot can be changed between then and the filming. Like Backup, for example. If you check other pilots, actors and places have been known to change. Pilots get a get out of jail free card, as they probably make big decisions
and changes after it's filmed.
