well, it helps that my parents are about 90 minutes away and they're on high ground....
been meaning to ask you, what kind of camera bag did you get? I'm trying to find something that's not too big, but can carry the body+lens and flash...
Funny you should ask...someone else on my friendslist posted about camera bags yesterday, prompting me to go look up what I have. I have a Lowepro Linx 160 (http://tinyurl.com/c5ys4), which has room for a body with lens attached, plus a couple extra lenses (or flash), plus various filters, batteries, etc.
I've had this bag for a few years now. However, do I ever actually use it? Not really. Mainly it's become my storage for home for keeping camera gear together. I generally just choose one lens to use (sacrificing the advantage of multiple lenses for the convenience of carrying) and put the camera/lens in my regular bag (with my wallet), or I just carry the camera over my shoulder.

this is the bag that I've got that I usually take if I'm traveling, then leave in the car...
kata holster
it needs to be 'broken in' a bit, and probably could't take much more than an extra 50mm OR a 200mm that's on the body.
I don't want to be one of those people who has the massive backpacks!
