Looks like a cute town for a summer vaca next year....

Is the water insanely cold in the summer?
and, more importantly, is this somewhere I could get a lobster roll?

We have had a week planned at Playa Del Carmen in January.

Our trip to El Paso is approaching (we're trying to pretend its an anniversary trip instead of a nephew's-birthday-and-christening trip) and I've found the coolest town that I hope that we can get away to visit on Sunday afternoon.  It looks like its about 30 miles away or so, definately driveable....  shit....just mapquested it, and it's 70 miles ( Read more... )

After a whopping 5 1/2 inches of rain on Saturday, we're just starting to dry out here.  My boss, who's about 45 minutes north of me, had 1/4 of an inch.  insane!

I finally finalized the flight for our trip to Playa Del Carmen in January.  Our week runs from 4 pm Sat- 11am Sat with no option of staying an extra day.  Using FF miles, our itenary was so - so:

Depart Saturday
Baltimore ->Atlanta ->Mexico City ->Cancun
We depart at 6AM only to arrive at 5PM  barfaroni!  (but its free)

I think my grumpiness about not getting to hawaii this Jan/Feb can be soothed by a gourmet all inclusive resort in Playa Del Carmen. Now, to see if Delta and the condo availability will coordinate nicely.... even if this one's not available, there's tons of other ones that look just as fab...
